Hello Synchronet Sysop!
Ok I have been getting a flood of support questions from Syncronet Sysops
lately so heres a update on the EASY way to run Syncronet with DB.
Type DB SETUP from the DOS prompt.
Goto Advanced,BBS configuration, then on the bottom command line
DOS commands for BBS: D: [the drive Syncronet is on]
CD\SBBS\Node1 [Syncronets Node Directory]
+Syncronet c*b -e*t -q
Your done!
Well not quite :-)
You MUST setup Synchronet to the SAME Baud rate and PORT as you have DB setup
at..
I recomend that you Start DB from a Batch file that has all the envirorment
SET commands for Syncronet & D'Bridge in it.. OR as I do Add them to the
SBBS.BAT
in each Node Directory..
From Autoexec.bat
OS2FIX "I run In a OS/2 Dos box so I need these lines"
DVANSI "
PKsfansi "
HERE is my SBBS.bat from Node 1
SET SBBS=Y:\SBBS
SET SBBSCTRL=Y:\SBBS\CTRL
SET SBBSNODE=Y:\SBBS\NODE1
SET SBBSNNUM=1
SET NODEID=1
SET TASK=1
@shroom.com -q -tts.exe, Giflite.exe, ..\exec\sbbs %1 %2 %3 %4 %5
Node status=0 1
Ok now you can tell Syncronet shell and run its doors Etc. like it was a
standalone Syncronet It could care less about the fact it lets D'Bridge
answer the
phone and handle the Mail..
I Highly recomend that you Run 4DOS you will find it handles things much
better
than Command.com be SURE you have at LEAST 1024 bytes of Enviroment space
Config.sys
SHELL= C:\4dos\4dos.com /p /E:1024
Ok that should answer 99% of the questions I have been answering 5+ times a
day
lately..
